Nurse Practitioners have been trained to deal with minor ailments (sore throats, cystitis etc.) and chronic diseases (coronary heart disease, chronic pulmonary disease, asthma and diabetes. They are highly skilled and very experienced and work closely with the doctors to enhance the scope of the practice team. They are also qualified to prescribe medication. |

Our receptionists make appointments, take requests for repeat prescriptions and deal with requests for home visits. They may need to ask you further details when you telephone. Community Nurses
01706 764316 Our district nurses are based within the health centre. These nurses provide general nursing care to patients who are ill at home or housebound. They also run daily clinics in the treatment room for dressings, blood tests, ear syringing and injections. |
Health Visitors

Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing. |
