Nurse Practitioners have been trained to deal with minor ailments (sore throats, cystitis etc.) and chronic diseases (coronary heart disease, chronic pulmonary disease, asthma and diabetes. They are highly skilled and very experienced and work closely with the doctors to enhance the scope of the practice team. They are also qualified to prescribe medication.
Dawn is an independent prescriber. She is trained to deal with all minor aliments. Dawn runs acute clinics on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Our highly trained nurses work very closely with the doctors. You may make an appointment directly with the them for blood pressure checks, foreign travel immunisations, tetanus and flu vaccinations, cervical smears, advice on weight loss and smoking cessation, as well as general medical advice.
Our healthcare assistant runs daily clinics for blood tests, BP checks, ECG, exercise on prescription, smoking cessation., weight management, as well as new patient checks.
Our practice manager is available to help you with any enquiries regarding the running of the Practice. She is also available by prior arrangement to address any problems you have encountered and to discuss any suggestions, which may improve our service to you.
Our receptionists make appointments, take requests for repeat prescriptions and deal with requests for home visits. They may need to ask you further details when you telephone. This is to ensure we can assist you as speedily as possible. They are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses. They aim to provide a link, rather than a barrier, between you and the doctors.
Our secretaries are responsible for all aspects of secretarial work within the Practice. She is also responsible for attending to patients’ queries regarding hospital referrals and appointments.
Our Practice pharmacist will deal with any medication reviews or queries within the Practice. He is able to see minor aliments and treat accordingly. He will also regularly review patient who are in care/residential homes. Patients are encouraged to book in with the Practice pharmacist for any medication reviews.

All Medication queries should be booked in with him at the first instance. Any hospital discharge medication requests would also be dealt with by our Pharmacist.

They help care for women during pregnancy, delivery and after their baby is born. They run regular antenatal clinics, relaxation and parent craft classes.
Our district nurses are based within the health centre. These nurses provide general nursing care to patients who are ill at home or housebound. They also run daily clinics in the treatment room for dressings, blood tests, ear syringing and injections.

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
